Classroom Crashes were created to create vocational training labs in area high schools. Each high school classroom is a designated space for Miller's Crew to come in and "crash" the space. A typical classroom is customized to provide vocational opportunities consisting of 4-5 various stations to "train". Miller's Crew collaborates with each school to assure that the space meets the needs of every Exceptional Child in the building. All labs are extremely functional, practical, applicable and profitable for the school's EC department. This program allows for the EC students to benefit in so many ways. The Classroom Crash program allows students to obtain school based hours as well as sharpen their skills for community based instruction. Connect TRAIN and employ.
We are currently transforming a vintage 1954 Alma camper into a 'mobile training lab" AKA: Food Truck...... "Cooking with the Crew" is Phase 2 of Miller's Crew. The mobile training lab will roll into our community and participate in various events. The opportunity to take acquired skills on the road is the goal. This will allow individuals with developmental disabilities to obtain community based experiences and additional skills that would broaden their interests and sharpen skills for future employment. Cooking with the Crew will be rolling soon.
Are you the parent or guardian of a young adult with a developmental disability that would be a good fit for this program? You are welcome to use the e-mail form below to ask questions about the program and sign your child up to be a future Crew member. Once we get the truck up and running, we will contact you to coordinate training opportunities for your child.
